Advising
Academic Advisors guide students in developing an education plan to meet the needs of his or her selected program of study.  Students transferring to a public university in Alabama are assisted using the STARS articulation program to ensure seamless academic transition.

Counseling
The ACTION Center offers Pinpoint, a comprehensive software program to help students explore major & career options.  Students who have not declared a major are counseled as career choices are considered.

Testing
Computerized testing available in the Center includes the COMPASS placement assessment, College Level Examination Program (CLEP), and the Biology Placement Test.  The ACT is administered on scheduled dates, which are published in the Semester Schedule.

Intervening
Directed guidance assures that every student who enrolls at Wallace State can be successful.  Undeclared majors, developmental students, and students experiencing academic difficulty are monitored closely for academic success, and ACTION Center staff provides referral for intervention services when needed.

Orienting
The ACTION Center supports and guides students in becoming familiar with the programs and services of Wallace State.  Seminars, workshops and a host of other resources are available to help students adjust to the academic demands of college life. 

Networking
The ACTION Center staff will refer students to faculty advisors and student services departments when appropriate.  Students may work with ACTION Center staff to establish a connection with transfer institutions.

Monday-Wednesday: 7:30am - 6:00pm

Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30 pm 

Friday: 7:30am - 2:00pm
