Admissions Procedures

A. Submit a completed and signed application for admission to the Wallace State Admissions Office. Applications are available in the Admissions Office or online.

B. All students must submit official high school or college transcripts to the Admissions Office before registering for a second semester at WSCC.

C. Information about financial aid, including scholarships, grants, loans, work-study, WIA, TRA, and veterans’ benefits, may be obtained by calling the Financial Aid Office at 256/352-8182.

D. All students must complete COMPASS Placement Tests in English, reading, and mathematics prior to registering for a class in those subjects. Testing is waived for those who present recent ACT scores of 20 (or the SAT equivalent) on the English and math portions. Contact the ACTION Center at 256/352-8046 for more information.

E. Students who have been advised and had their PIN activated may register online at www.wallacestate.edu. You must see your advisor to have your PIN activated.

F. Registration is not complete until tuition and fees are paid in full. Tuition may be paid online, by mail, or in person at the WSCC Cashier’s Office located in the Bailey Center. Please consult page 3 in the course schedule for a list of tuition and fees and important deadlines. For payment information, call 256/352-8141. Mastercard and VISA are accepted.

G. Students may access their grades at the conclusion of each semester online at www.wallacestate.edu.

H. Students should consult their advisor to ensure that all course requirements are fulfilled prior to graduation.

Students must apply for graduation by completing a form available in the Admissions Office located in the Bailey

Center and pay a graduation fee in the Cashier’s Office. Call 256/352-8236 for information.

I. Certain programs may have specific admissions criteria and deadlines. Consult the WSCC Catalog for detailed information.

J. The WSCC Office of Student Recruiting, located on the eleventh floor of the Bailey Center, is available to provide college information and to schedule campus tours. Call 256/352-8031 for information.
