2012 WSCC Volleyball Individual and Team Camps

***Wallace State volleyball camps have become one of the most largest and popular volleyball camps in the Southeast. Wallace State has 8 courts to accommodate 85 total teams as they each prepare for their upcoming season. Wallace State's team camps are designed to maximize competition play and we conduct our team camps similar to a club tournament, which features pool play and a concluding tournament. We also offer a very popular Individual Skills Camp to increase "Overall Skills" for those ages 10-18.

The Wallace State volleyball tradition stretches back more than 20 years ago, when it was introduced at the school in 1989. Over the years, the program has received 21 Coach of the Year awards, while producing 13 conference MVPs and six All-Americans.

Wallace State volleyball teams have earned conference and district championships 16 times, earning them 12 appearances at the National Tournament. Numerous members of the program have continued their athletic and academic careers after signing with 4-year institutions.

Wallace State completed another dominating season in 2011, finishing as the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC)/Region 22 state champion for the third consecutive year and making its third straight appearance in the NJCAA national tournament and 12th overall. The Lions finished the season with a 42-5 record and remained undefeated in regular season conference play for the fourth year in a row under head coach Randy Daniel.

Wallace State freshman Erica Baker, a middle hitter from Hazel Green, was named a NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American and the 2011 ACCC/Region 22 Player of the Year after leading the conference in hitting percentage and blocks and finishing second in kills. Sophomore Lesley Bemis was an NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American selection after leading the league in kills and finishing third in blocks, freshman Brooke Beasley was named Tournament MVP and 1st-team All-Region and sophomore Callie Miller also earned a 1st-team All-Region nod.

In 2010, Wallace State put together a school-record 53 wins, set single-season team marks in kills, assists, digs and blocks and had a player named NJCAA Honorable Mention for the second straight year (Taulise Dunklin, 2010; Cassie Daniels, 2009).

Coach Daniel, the 2011 ACCC Coach of the Year, has established Wallace State volleyball as a perennial state and national power, compiling a 195-33 career record in fifth seasons with the program.

Under Daniel, Wallace State finished with records of 42-5 in 2011; 53-3 in 2010; 34-6 in 2009; 42-6 in 2008 and 24-13 during Daniel's inaugural season in 2007.

Daniel has coached three ACCC "Player of the Years", three ACCC Tournament MVPs, four NJCAA Honorable Mention All-Americans and 33 All-Region players in five seasons. Prior to Daniel's tenure at Wallace State, he spent 10 years coaching in the high school ranks. He won a state championship in 2001 at Winston County High School and finished runner-up in 2003. His former players currently hold numerous records in the AHSAA statistical categories, and many others are ranked very highly.

Coach Daniel has a B.S. degree in Comprehensive Science from The University of Alabama and a Master's degree in Education from Montana State University. In addition to coaching the Lady Lions, he teaches biology and geology for Wallace State.
