In order to participate in online classes, you must have a computer with the ability to establish an Internet connection and basic understanding of computers and Internet navigation. Also, you must understand how to upload, download and attach files.

You will need a computer with personal access to the internet and Web-browser software, and the version of software that matches the text. Your connection to the internet should be something other than “dial-up”—Cable or DSL for example. A slow connection (dial-up) results in many problems. At this time, Vista is not compatible with Blackboard. In some instances, pop up avoidance software interferes with Blackboard and must be disabled. Online Classes: All course work for online classes begins the first day of class. Sign into BlackBoard and access your class. Read and Print your syllabus. The BlackBoard site has multiple ways in which to obtain and review information. Please review all the menu items carefully to become familiar with the learning tools available to you. You may use the FAQ menu to ask questions or contact your instructor through BlackBoard email.

Hybrid Classes: You must attend the first class meeting—it will be your orientation for the class. You will receive your syllabus and class requirements will be outlined.

Labs: Business Computer labs are available for business students who need access to the latest version of software or who need online access. Computer malfunctions or internet accessibility are not excuses for failing to submit your work on time.
