Direct Loans
**Complete these steps ONLY if you want a Student Loan at Wallace State Community College**
1. Visit http://studentloans.gov
2. Click “Sign- In” (bright green button)
3. Enter SSN#
a. 1st 2 characters of Last Name
b. Birthdate
c. Pin #
4. Click Entrance Counseling in Middle of Page
a. Click I am an “Undergraduate Student”
b. Click “Alabama”
c. Click “George C. Wallace State Community College – Main Campus”
d. Once you complete Entrance Counseling in Blue Text at bottom of webpage it will state “You can Submit a Master Promissory Note”
e. Click Sub/Unsub
To check and see if you have completed steps:
1. Sign back in
2. On left hand side of page click “Completed MPN’s”
3. On Left hand side of page click “View Previously Completed Counseling”
4. If you have completed 2 & 3 you will be able to view each of them.
