The Wallace State Museum will be closed March 10th thru March 20th.
The Burrow Museum houses a $9.5 million collection donated to Wallace State Community College by Evelyn Burrow of Cullman, Alabama. Included in the museum are more than 5,000 pieces from around the world acquired over 65 years by Burrow and her late husband, Ottis. This is one of the finest collections of its kind in the world today. Object d’art in the Museum date as far back as the 1600s. Other pieces are so rare they are priceless.
The Museum boasts one of the largest known collections of horse sculptures in existence (inspired by the Burrows' Tennessee Walker, Ebony's Leading Lady - a 1965 World Champion). An overview of a few of the pieces in this extensive collection can be found by using the navigation to the left.
The Evelyn Burrow Museum is an annex of Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Alabama. Plans are underway to relocate the museum to campus, where it will be housed in a new Ottis and Evelyn Burrow Center for the Fine and Performing Arts. Until then, we invite you to include a visit to our campus in your trip to the Museum.
Wallace State offers opportunities for lifelong learning, beautiful facilities, an expansive landscape for outdoor activities, and a library and comprehensive genealogical research center that draws visitors from around the country.
