Equivalent transfer courses are often available at neighboring institutions.  Students at Linkage schools should meet with the linkage advisor.  You may also contact a PTA program advisor or WSCC admissions office for transfer information.

Remember - transfer courses must have the same number of credit hours to be considered for substitution.

You must also have a grade of "C" or above to meet PTA program transfer requirements.

GENERAL REQUIRED COURSES (Prerequisites)

* Orientation to College is a college requirement, not a requirement of the program. You are exempt from orientation if you are a transfer student with a minimum of 12 semester hours of college work or if you were enrolled at Wallace State Community College before Fall 2004. Orientation 103 is required for any student who places in a developmental level course.

** Ethics (particularly Ethics & the Health Sciences) or Spanish is recommended.  Humanities electives can also be any 3 credit hour art, music, theatre, religion, philosophy, foreign language, or literature course.

*** BIO 103 Principles of Biology is a prerequisite class for BIO 201 & 202.  However, if the school from which you are transferring did not require you to take BIO 103 prior to taking BIO 201 & 202 it is NOT necessary for you to go back and take BIO 103 for PTA program application/consideration.   

RECOMMENDED COURSE

  * Admission to the Physical Therapist Assistant Program is not required to enroll in this course. Bonus points will be added to an applicant’s overall admission ranking for enrollment in, or completion of, this course.
