Step 1 - Blackboard access through the college homepage

Go to the Wallace State homepage located at www.wallacestate.edu

Click on the logo located to the right side.

Step 2 - myWallaceState page

Click on the logo after reading through any information that may apply to you at this time.

Step 3 - Log In

Students Please Note:   Beginning spring semester 2008, ALL students will be issued a new username.  This username can be retrieved, and password set/reset at: https://mywallaceid.wallacestate.edu

Please see http://mywallaceid.wallacestate.edu/Instructions for information on how to activate your myWallaceID account! 

Once active, you will use the username that is specified and the password that you supplied during myWallaceID activation to log into Blackboard.

Step 5 - Browser Checker

Upon initial entry into Blackboard, you may be required to check the results of your browser compatibility (as shown below).

Be sure you scroll down to each of the red Xs and correct the problem incurred as directed.

Most of these will involve the Java which should be updated to correctly use this version of Blackboard.

Another chronic problem is that of pop-up blockers. Blackboard makes use of pop-ups so this must be left on.

If you are using the AOL browser, you may wish to consider using the Microsoft Internet browser in it's stead as it is much more stable with Blackboard.

Step 6 - Course access

The screen above is similar to how yours will appear upon logging in.

Please check each of the sections for any new information that requires your attention before clicking on a class.

Also, note the yellow bar above the Blackboard Campus Edition indicating non-secure content options to visit. Follow the directions given should something like this appear.

Don't forget to properly Log out when wishing to end the Blackboard session.
