Government Relations

Wallace State encourages students to be involved in the political process. As a public institution, we rely on federal and state appropriations to bring our communities and our students the quality programs they desire and deserve to meet the demands of a 21st century American economy. Students are also affected by funding at the state and federal levels, especially with regard to financial aid. Wallace State was among a group of colleges and universities across the country that advocated successfully for year-round (summer) Pell Grants for students, which were reinstated in 2018 -- so that you can now enroll full time all three semesters in an academic year, and finish your degree sooner, while being eligible to receive full Pell each semester. Your voice matters. Together we can make a difference.
