A collaborative multimedia showcase of community artworks organized by Minnesota’s Hennepin Technical College and Alabama’s Wallace State Community College exploring the diversity and intersectionality of identities across cultural, digital and regional boundaries.
Participants for “Streaming Identity” Community Multimedia Art Showcase are invited to create and submit portraits and/or self-portraits that they feel are representations of the many individual characteristics and ideas that combine to create their distinctive identity. As a part of an ever-changing global environment, we are continuously streaming new information that shapes who we are, and causes our identity to be fluid, and subject to change. Participants are encouraged to create portraits that communicate the intersections of cultural, digital and contemporary identities. Exhibit organizers hope to inspire and feature artworks, which examine labels, stereotypes and margins which individuals face in society and to also answer the question “Is identity how we see ourselves or how others see us?” View submission guidelines here.
