Hanceville, AL — Anyone who enjoys a story about a quest for redemption will enjoy Wallace State Community College Theatre’s production of “The Lightning Thief” March 8-10.

A theatrical adaptation of Rick Riordan's popular young adult novel of the same name, “The Lightning Thief” follows the story of Percy Jackson, a teenager who discovers he is a demigod, the son of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. But when Zeus' lightning bolt is stolen and Percy is accused of the theft, he sets out on a quest with his friends Annabeth and Grover to find the real thief and prevent a war among the gods. Along the way, they encounter various mythical creatures and face numerous challenges.

“The play explores themes of friendship, identity, and the power of believing in oneself,” said Angela Green, director of the Wallace State Theatre program.
