More than 120 student athletes earn place on ACCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

Hanceville, Ala. — Wallace State Community College congratulates the student athletes and teams who were named to the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll. Student athletes who achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher are eligible for inclusion on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

“We are extremely proud of our student athletes,” said Kristen Holmes, Vice President for Students. “They work hard every day on and off the field, juggling classes along with practices and game, and serving as leaders on campus. It takes dedication, effort and focus to earn such an outstanding achievement.”

Collectively, 10 WSCC teams recognized for averaging a 3.0 GPA or higher for the 2024-2025 academic year: Baseball, Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, Men’s and Women’s Golf, Softball, Men’s and Women’s Tennis and Volleyball.

More than 120 student athletes earned a place on the individual Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the Spring 2025 semester.

Seven Wallace State athletic teams claimed ACCC conference championships during the 2024-2025 season: Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, Men’s Golf, and Men’s and Women’s Tennis. Seven teams finished in the top 10 in national competitions. Men’s and Women’s Cross Country finished third and fourth, respectively. Softball finished in third place, Women’s Golf finished in fifth place, and Men’s and Women’s Tennis finished in eighth and 10th place, respectively.

Wallace State is fielding teams for two new sports at the college. Men’s Soccer and Women’s Flag Football will each begin play in Fall 2025. For more information about Wallace State Athletics, visit athletics.wallacestate.edu.
