Wallace State at Oktoberfest and Cullman County Fair

Hanceville, Ala. — Wallace State Community College will have a strong presence at this year’s Oktoberfest celebration in Cullman as well as the upcoming Cullman County Fair. Wallace State is the Oktoberfest Stage sponsor for the event, where WSCC students will be featured in two performances on Saturday.
The Wallace State Singers will take the Oktoberfest Stage on Saturday at 11 a.m., performing a selection of songs from its upcoming Great American Road Trip show, which will include songs celebrating the American spirit in preparation of the nations’ 250th birthday. The Wallace State Singers are led by director Tiffany Richter.
At noon, the Wallace State Jazz Band, led by director Ricky Burks, will share a playlist that includes jazz standards as well as a few polkas that the audience can dance to.
Also on Saturday, the Wallace State Cheerleaders and Miss Wallace State will participate in the Cullman County Fair Parade, which begins at 2 p.m.
On Friday, two Wallace State emlployees, Katie McGee and Mark Bolin, will be performing as part of The Overtones band from 4 to 6 p.m., in the Ethos and Goat Island Pavillion.
The Singers will also perform on Oct. 14 during the Miss Cullman County Fair Competition, which starts at 6 p.m., in the Coca Cola Theatre.
Throughout Oktoberfest, attendees are welcome to visit with representatives from the college at the Wallace State booth in the sponsor area next to Festhalle. Representatives will also be at the Cullman County Fair Oct. 10-18 in exhibit building four.
