BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Shorthanded but resilient, the Wallace State volleyball team battled through adversity to secure a 3-0 conference victory at Lawson State on Tuesday night, winning by scores of 25-23, 28-26, and 25-15.

Despite being hit hard by injuries that left the lineup missing several starters, the Lions found a way to deliver under pressure. The turning point came in the second set, when Wallace State clawed out a 28-26 win to take full control of the match.

The return of Sofiia Sobol proved crucial. After missing the past two contests, Sobol led the Lions with 14 kills, sparking the offense and providing steady play at the net. Cheyenne Lucas added 11 kills, while setter Ali Price kept the attack flowing with 36 assists. Defensively, Abby McDonald anchored the back row with 15 digs.

Head coach Randy Daniel praised the team's grit, noting the effort to overcome injuries and remain steady in key moments.

With the win, Wallace State improves to 21-3 overall and continues its push atop the conference standings. The Lions return home for a pair of crucial conference matchups next week: Snead State visits on October 15, followed by Gadsden State on October 16.
