Benefits of Dual Enrollment
Cost Savings:
Tuition and fees at Wallace State are significantly
less than those at four year colleges.

Simultaneous Credit:
Earn credit for both high school graduation and your
college degree with the same amount of coursework!

Educational Advantage:
Get a jump start on your college career while easing
the transition from high school to college.

Dual Enrollment Students:
  • Are more likely to enroll in college right out of high
  • Earn higher first year GPAs
  • Are more likely to continue on to the second year
of college—making them more likely to finish!

Dual Enrollment allows eligible high school students the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit. College courses count toward Alabama high school graduation requirements and also remain a part of the student’s permanent college transcript.

High school students may also take courses through the honors program where only college credit is awarded for the coursework. Students may take courses for honors credit online or at night.

To be eligible, students must:

  • Students must be in grade 10, 11, or 12
  • Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Have written approval of principal and superintendent
  • Meet the WSCC entrance requirements
  • Complete placement exams.

**English courses may not be taken for honors credit.**

Students planning to transfer to private universities or universities outside of Alabama, will need to contact an advisor at the school in which they plan to attend to discuss transfer credits.
