Dual Enrollment allows eligible high school students the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit. College courses count toward Alabama high school graduation requirements and also remain a part of the student’s permanent college transcript.
High school students may also take courses through the honors program where only college credit is awarded for the coursework. Students may take courses for honors credit online or at night.
To be eligible, students must:
Students must be in grade 10, 11, or 12
Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
Have written approval of principal and superintendent
Meet the WSCC entrance requirements
Complete placement exams.
**English courses may not be taken for honors credit.**
Transfer Credit:
Students planning to transfer to a public university in Alabama can use the STARS Guide to ensure all courses will transfer. Students planning to transfer to private universities or universities outside of Alabama, will need to contact an advisor at the school in which they plan to attend to discuss transfer credits.
