Center for Cybersecurity Education

Vision

The vision of the Center for Cybersecurity Education (CCE) is to provide information assurance and cyber defense education and community outreach to promote cyber safety. Our center promotes IA/CD education and best practices within and outside our campus to prepare next generation of cybersecurity professionals. Our cyber education program includes ethical and legal conduct for security professionals.

Mission

The mission of the Center for Cybersecurity Education (CCE) is to promote cybersecurity and information assurance knowledge through the center, events and classes. The CCE will collaborate with area agencies, businesses, and other organizations to promote awareness of cybersecurity issues. The CCE will also work to develop a strong cybersecurity workforce in Central and North Alabama by supporting and promoting Wallace State Community College’s AAS degree and certificate programs in Cybersecurity and Networking.

Industry Guidance

Wallace State Community College has an established Business and Industry Leadership Team (BILT) that serves to advise on the Computer Science Programs including the Center for Cybersecurity Education. The team consists of professionals from area businesses and educational institutions. Function of the team is to provide guidance and leadership for the center and academic program. Team members bring a wealth of knowledge from the local businesses and assist the center to promote education.
